My work as a sculptor is a continuous exploration of form, texture and light. I seek the endless play between light and shadow. In this way I explore the depth of form and the perception of movement. I capture moments of transience. I am interested in the fleeting states of nature such as light, wind, water. These elements are by their very nature constantly changing, fluid and inconsistent. My intention is to encapsulate this movement in the static medium of wood or metal. I create visual paradoxes where the material opposes its inherent rigidity. This is my provocation to the audience and my connection with them – when they transfer their subjective state into the objective form before them.
